I expect when we wish ‘Happy New Year’ we all have different thoughts and meanings. As I have grown older I find myself wishing good health: mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. For good health I believe we have to have a positive attitude and nothing brought this home to me more than an experience I had in Thailand several years ago. On a Fairtrade tour I was in the jungle experiencing a home stay and the lady of the house offered me a shower. Gratefully I accepted and followed her out to what could only be described as a shed. Within, there was a ‘hole in the ground’, a small bucket and a large wooden tub, the latter containing a large ladle. This was the shower! Now every day as I enjoy the luxury of an indoor shower I give thanks for what I have and for being alive.
Have a blessed 2016 and more importantly: be a blessing to others.
